Jack Lalanne inspired body weight workout

The original Jack Lalanne show was built around being able to show regular people how they could exercise without any equipment in their own homes and make dramatic improvements to their health in a half hour a day. The work of Jack Lalanne has been a huge inspiration for us at fitnessforus.com as well as a huge source of information, knowledge and inspiration for me when I finally decided to take control of my personal health and reverse a lifetime of obesity. So in honor of Jack Lalanne here is a new full body no weights required workout. You can do this routine in about half an hour and repeat it daily. This workout is based on one I use when traveling to deal with the lack of equipment in many hotel gyms.

Do this workout as a circuit completing each exercise then resting two minutes and repeat another three or four times depending on your conditioning. Do 15 -20 repetitions of each exercise and increase that number as your condition improves. If you cannot compete each exercise without a rest than take a rest and finish the 15 – 20 repetitions before moving on to the next workout.

Jumping Jacks

Burpees (squat down, then put your hands on the ground and kick your legs out so you are in an upright pushup position, then bring your legs back so you are again in the squat position and then stand upright)

Jumping Jacks

Pushups

Mountain climbers (from a pushup position bring your right knee up to your chest then return it to the starting position and then do the same with your left knee)

Jumping Jacks

Crunches

Dips of chair, couch or any stable surface

Body weight lunges
